I have typed up a document going over the structure of the guild if anyone is interested. Mainly for the GM but anyone can view it.

Guide to Kitty Academy
Kitty Academy was established on March 18, 2015. It has been 453 days since then. That’s 450 days longer than I thought it would’ve lasted and it wouldn’t have been possible without you guys. You’ve taught me that there are many people with different opinions and backgrounds. Some of them I could relate with while others were new to me. It kept me open minded and allowed me to handle indifferences between members. You’ve taught me to be more confident so I could leave my comfort zone. You know how nervous I was to talk to the first person on voice chat? It was the first time I’ve ever managed a guild let alone talk to a random stranger over the internet. Anyways, Clomonoxide was the first person I talked to and he thought I was weird. I don’t blame him though. I would’ve thought I was weird too. Nonetheless, he stayed in the guild anyways. Maybe I’m not the weird one.

When I first started playing Tera in December 2014, I thought it was confusing and lacked proper information. I farmed endless hours for relic pieces to make my avatar weapon before I realized I was just wasting my time. What were the benefits of leveling a guild? Turns out leveling a guild was a waste of time. How did I figure that out? Google couldn’t even save me. I farmed enough currency with Senpai.Noticed.You (co-founder of KA) until we had enough to level the guild. What a big disappointment.

Through all the mmorpgs I’ve played, I have never obtained the best gear. But let’s say I did, then what? What do I do next? Boring achievements? Sorry to those that actually found it exciting. However, the amount of new players and questions were endless. I found it enjoyable to help players out and use what I learned to make their experiences better. How COOL would it be to make a guild designed to help new players? We’d be known to the community as a guild that’s actually noob friendly. We can be like…like Tera Academy.
“That’s stupid and not cute at all”, replied Senpai as she dipped tofu in hot soup. We were having dinner at a hot pot restaurant while talking about forming a guild together.
“But I would like at least Academy because we’d teach”, I insisted.
“How about Starship Space Cats!”
“Uhh…No,” I groaned as I placed my food down and stared at Senpai with displeased eyes. “There’s nothing academy-like in it.”
“Itty Bitty Kitty Committee!” Senpai’s eyes were still glued to her soup.
“That’s already taken, but it’s a good one, huh.” I sighed. “What about Kitty Academy?”
Senpai rested her spoon and looked up. “That’s pretty cute.”
“Alright! Awesome. Now, what about rank names?”
Senpai went back to her food. I felt like this was something I had to figure out on my own. The next day I got started on making the guild. Ranks would be based on level milestones. Medieval style like knights and bishops…peasants? Maybe freshman, sophomore, junior and senior? This is too complicated, how about if we were all the same rank. That sounds nicer doesn’t it? No one is better than the other, not even the GM. Your reputation reflects your character. Since it caters towards new players so that makes us inquisitive. “Inquisitive Kitties of Kitty Academy.” No, that’s stupid. Curious? “Curious Kitties of Kitty Academy”. Yeah, that’s the one.
As months went by, the guild began to grow while I grew beside it. I’ve made many mistakes, but you guys were patient with me and offered advice on how I could improve. Originally, I expected members to leave the guild for a larger guild after they learned the basics of the game. After all, Kitty Academy was only a stepping stone. The only person to have “graduated” from KA and move to a stronger guild was Menstral. He’s currently well geared and a skilled pvp player, but I knew him when he was getting slaughted by level 24 naga warlord “Nakarash”. I must’ve resurrected him about 10 times. To me, he was the guy that cried when we couldn’t beat the last boss of Ravenous Gorge. Eventually he was recruited by Vocaloids and then Enraged. He didn’t want to leave KA, but Senpai and I pushed him out.

However, everyone else in KA stayed! What was I to do with the rest of you guys at level 65?! I reached out to other guilds and talked to their GM about how they ran their guild. I was fortunate enough to find people that would teach me dungeon mechanics. In return, I wanted to teach members of KA. No matter how big it got, that was always going to be our number one goal. But things didn’t always go smoothly. Large guild calls for more drama. They’re never easy and I learned to tread carefully and compassionately. No bias. No favoritism. They’re usually caused by misunderstandings anyways.

I want to thank everyone that selflessly offered to help those in need. I appreciate those that stood up and stopped arguments from getting out of hand. I am grateful to those that were there for me when I doubted myself. These actions merit no reward, yet you were willing step forward. I said this guild was built on the foundation to help each other in Tera. But eventually I felt like we were there to help each other as people and not just avatars. If I had told myself this a year ago, I would’ve thought I was crazy and spent too much time on the computer. Kitty Academy has taught me a lot and I hope it has for you. That being said, I feel like I can no longer have the time to give the attention that KA deserves. I don’t have the motivation, optimism and vision I once had. Therefore, I will be resigning my position as GM of Kitty Academy. I know that to some it may seem like a big deal and to others it may not. Regardless, I am sorry that this sprang up so suddenly
Teamspeak will stay up for another month. I will stay active on teamspeak until everything is cleared up. If anyone is interested in taking over, feel free to message me. We can discuss it in more detail. If you get the position, I will hand over the accounts regarding Teamspeak (and icons), guild emblem, and the website. Don’t hesitate to ask if you ever have any questions.
